CHUCK
HIRSCH ELECTED
TO WRF CAPITAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS
SEATTLE -- Chuck Hirsch, Managing Director of Madrona Venture Group, has been
elected to the board of directors of WRF Capital, which creates and invests in
technology-based start-up companies.
Before joining Madrona, Hirsch was Chairman of Hirsch & Co., LLC, a
Bellevue-based venture consultancy that worked with select national venture
firms and numerous emerging technology companies including InterNAP Network
Services, Aventail Corp., InteliHealth and Unified Signal Corp. He also served as a consultant to Microsoft, General Mills and Omron
Corp.
Hirsch was Co-founder and
President of Dare-to-Dream Intertainment, which merged into Microsoft in 1995,
where he served as Group Product Planner responsible for the ActiMates ®
product line. He serves on the
Executive Committee of the Washington State Alliance of Angels and the Board of
Trustees of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Hirsch is a graduate of
Williams College and a former White House Fellow.
WRF Capital is the venture investment arm of Washington Research Foundation, an
independent organization founded in 1981 to create wealth to support research
and scholarship at Washington state institutions. WRF Capital companies are
primarily those with some technology originating at the University of Washington
and other research institutions in the state.
